Shoo Privacy Policy

Shoo is built so that your calls, texts and contacts stay on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what Shoo does with information.

The short version

Shoo does not collect, sell or share your personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Calls

iOS asks Shoo for a list of numbers to block, and Shoo provides it. Shoo never sees your incoming calls, your call history or who you talk to. iOS does the blocking. Blocked calls appear in your Phone app under Unknown Callers.

Texts

If you turn on Shoo's text filtering, iOS hands Shoo texts from senders who are not in your contacts so it can sort them into Junk, Transactions or Promotions. Shoo checks each message on your iPhone, using its block list and Apple's on-device language model. Messages are never stored by Shoo and never leave your device. iOS does not give Shoo texts from your contacts or iMessages.

Your lists

Numbers you block, ranges you block and numbers you mark "never block" are stored only on your iPhone, inside Shoo. They are deleted when you delete the app. Shoo does not access your Contacts.

The spam list download

Once a day, Shoo downloads a public list of reported spam numbers from our server. The list is built from public complaint data published by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission, and contains no information about you. Like any web request, this download reveals your device's IP address to our server and hosting provider. We do not use it to identify you, and request logs are kept for no more than 30 days for security and reliability.

Purchases

Shoo Premium subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details; Apple only tells the app whether a subscription is active.

Children

Shoo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
